Abstract:
Social capital plays a significant role in shaping patterns of political participation, community engagement, and development outcomes in tribal societies. In the context of Jharkhand, where Scheduled Tribes constitute a substantial proportion of the population, traditional community networks, kinship relations, collective institutions, and local organizations continue to influence governance processes and development initiatives. This study examines the relationship between social capital, political inclusion, and tribal development in the state
of Jharkhand, with particular emphasis on the role of community participation in promoting inclusive governance and socio-economic progress.
